Carrot - Orange Cake

Last weekend, I baked Carrot - Orange cake for Nenek's Birthday Party.
The baked cake is covered with Cream Cheese - Orange frosting and decorated with Candied Orange Peel.

Since tante DayBab dah belajar buat buttercream, birthday cake Adik... tante bikin kek. Chocolate cake yang disapu dengan buttercream. Kek tu tante decorate dengan 3 clown yang sungguh warna-warni serta belon.

Keliling kek pulak, tante hias dengan coklat.

Alhamdulilah...

Alhamdulilah... DayBab menang - Food Fest Contest for October 2008. Thanks to Lynn whom had organised the contest.
Actually, DayBab masuk contest sekadar suka-suka dan kebetulan baru aje siapkan kek tuk birthday Selena. Semua yang participate dalam contest nie memang handal-handal belaka. Congratulations to you guys too...!!
Satu kemenangan yang paling tak ku sangka... Alhamdulilah.

Cake Deco and Cupcakes Class...

Last Saturday, DayBab gi Cake Deco and Cupcakes Class. Kali nie, DayBab berguru ngan Kak Min from Baking Project. Untuk class nie Kak Min tak ambik banyak student - dalam 3-4 aje. Masa class Sabtu lalu, hanya 3 student termasuk DayBab. Kak Azizah dah kali kedua ikuti class ngan Kak Min. DayBab and Kak Latifah, first timer.
Class start kul 10:30 pagi dan berakhir kul 3:30 petang. Tapi, by 2p.m., kita dah siap. Class bermula dengan membuat cupcakes. Pastu, buat buttercream. Masa nie yg best.... Daybab belajar buat bunga ros dengan menggunakan cream.
Yang paling best, DayBab dapat pelajari pelbagai teknik... Teknik-teknik yang sungguh best!! Thank you, Kak Min...
At the end of the class, we all boleh bawak balik kek yang telah di-decorate. 1 kek bulat and 6 cupcakes. Memang best...

DayBab's first attempt tuk buat fruit tartlets. Alhamdulilah, menjadi and sedap. Lain kali bisa buat lagi.... hehehehehe.

Chocolate Moist Cake...

Last week DayBab buat Choc Moist Cake tuk Tini. One of the school ordered cake for "Graduation Day". I baked 2 cakes and combined it to be 1. Spread with chocolate ganache and put some decorations...

Lasagna....

Hari tu, DayBab buat lasagna pakai instant lasagna brand San Remo. Ingatkan dulu, susah sangat lerr nak buat lasagna. Bila dah buat, senang rupanya. DayBab buat pakai resipi dari Cik Mat... Terima kasih yea Cik Mat....

Jalan-jalan Cari Makan....

Last Saturday, lepas class baking kat umah Kak Min... DayBab gi jalan-jalan cari makan. Niat dihati nak cari Bakso Abg Fauzy... malangnya, tak tercapi hajat ku kerna Abg Fauzy dah tak ada kat spot yang sepatutnya.
So, kita pon gi lerrr makan Bakso kat area Pandan. A bit hampa coz rasa Bakso nie tak dapat nak tandingi kehebatan Bakso Abg Fauzy. He has put a very high standard to me towards Bakso. I tell you... Bakso Abg Rosli nie, marvellous!!!

Butterfly .... Birthday Cake...

Ingredients:
3 cups sifted cake flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoons salt
1 3/4 cups sugar
2/3 cup butter or margarine
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/4 cups milk


Instructions :
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom of two 8-inch round cake pans and line with waxed paper or parchment paper. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. Cream sugar and butter together until light. Add eggs and vanilla to creamed mixture and beat until thoroughly mixed. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Continue beating one minute. Spread batter evenly in prepared pans. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool layers in pans on wire racks 10 minutes. Remove from pans; cool completely. Fill and frost as desired.


Chocolate Gnache :
200 gm cooking chocolate
200 ml whipping cream

Decorations :
Sweets and other interesting stuff

* Bake the cake as per instruction. Let the cake to cooled. Once its harden, cut and assemble as per picture above.

* Some of the decorations use.

* Once you have covered the cake with chocolate ganache, decorate the cake beautifully.


* This is the end product......

Blueberry Cheese Cuppies

Blueberry Cheese Cuppies...
Ingredients:
Base:
250 gm Digestive Biscuits
110 gm butter - melted
Cheese :
500 gm cream cheese
30 gm butter
120 gm castor sugar
30 gm cornflour
250 ml whipping cream
juice from 1 lemon
4 eggs
Filling :
Blueberry filling
Method:

* Melt the butter. Biscuits to be crumbed. Then, mixed both ingredients. Once it is mixed, put approximately 1 tsp of the base ingredients into a cup. I use medium size cuppies.

* To make the cheese... Let the cream cheese at room tempreature. Beat it until smooth. Then, add butter. Once it is well blend, add in corn flour, castor sugar, whipping cream and also lemon juice. Mix it well. Finally, add in beaten eggs.

* Make sure it is not over mixed. Once everything is ready. Add in approximately 4 tbsp blueberry pie filling into the mixture. Mix well.
* Scoop the mixture into a pipping bag and pipe it into the prepared cuppies.
* Bake at 150cc for 10 minutes.

* Cooled the cuppies. Once it is cooled. Piped the blueberry filling at the middle of the cuppies. You can also decorate it with drizzled white chocolate....

Hokey Pokey...

Semalam... Kat Channel 707 - Nigella Express... Nigella dok buat Hokey Pokey. Resipi sungguh senang...
100gm sugar, 4 tbsp golden syrup and 1 1/2 tsp bicarb.
Sugar gaul rata ngan golden syrup. Pastu letak kan atas api. Biarkan hingga cair. Mati kan api, then masukkan bicarb. Kacau and tuangkan pada loyang.
Hasil nye...?? Kurang menjadi.... *sedih nye...*
Mana silap nye, DayBab pon tak tahu...

Terima kasih bebanyak kepada En. Akhyari Hananto... DayBab dapat buku "Cooking With Love" gratis gitu lho. Mas Akhyari nie member kepada Shamam yang datang dari Yogyakarta. MaKasih yea... moga-moga bermanfaat tuk DayBab dan semua...

Last Saturday was Selena's Birthday.
DayBab decided to bake a cake for Birthday Gurl. Theme kali nie ialah Butterfly. The whole week DayBab dok browsing gambar Butterfly. Dan ini lah hasilnye.... DayBab buat dengan bantuan my sis - dia yang dok berdeco kek tu and di supervise oleh Mak Long...
-Kek yang telah dipotong... Belum disapu ganache lagi... Ada yang tak dapat nak teka bentuk apa kah ini... -

iDea... OH... IdEa....


Since last week, DayBab dokbrowsing the net tuk cari idea. Mama Selena pesan Birthday cake bentuk Butterfly tuk Selena. The event will be on Saturday, sekali dengan aqiqah tuk Ariana.
I already have a rough idea on how to decorate the cake... wish me luck. Semoga suksess and Birthday Girl suka pada cake tu....

MiNi CheeseCake....

-Mini Blueberry Cheesecake-

-Yummmyyyy....-

Asyik dok buat cake tuk orang aje... orang rumah pon nak jugak. So, two days ago... DayBab buat mini cheesecake. One portion buat Blueberry Cheesecake, the other one DayBab buat Mars Chocolate Cheesecake.
Buat mini cheesecake nie, daybab guna resipi cheesecake biasa - resepi ada kat sini. Kita pelbagai kan aje... Lebih senang nak makan...
Yummmmyyyyyyy.....

Double Choco Doughnut...

- Double Choco ku yang tersedia tuk dimakan... yummmyyyy...-
Resepi nie DayBab dapat dari My Resipi .. Hasil cipataan Kak Yani memang sedap tersangat-sangat. Nak buat pon senang... Kak Yani, DayBab cut and paste yea resipi nye. Pada semua, selamat mencuba... :-)
Bahan-bahan ( +- 20 biji )
1 biji telur
50g gula halus
4 sudu besar susu segar
80g tepung naik sendiri atau (80g tepung gandum + 1sk baking powder)
30g serbuk koko
50g coklat masakan(white chocolate or milk chocolate)
minyak secukupnya
kelapa kering secukupnya.

Cara-cara
Ayak tepung dan serbuk koko.
Kemudian masukkan susu, telur dan gula ke dalam no.1 tadi. Kacau sehingga sebati.
Panaskan minyak. Bila minyak dah panas, ceduk adunan tadi dengan sudu kecil dan masukkan ke dalam minyak panas. (kalau nak senang guna 2 btg sudu - lebih kurang macam buat jemput2lah).
Gorenglah sehingga masak.
Cairkan coklat masakan dengan kaedah double boiler. Bila coklat dah cair. Padamkan api. Masukkan donut yg dah siap digoreng tadi. Gaul sehingga rata. Kemudian cover pulak dengan kelapa kering.
Siap utk dihidang.
